Interview with A Candle Lit City

Hey readers! Here's our interview with A Candle Lit City. Check it out and let us know if you want to see another, more funny, interview with them!

Interview done by Kitty Schnell of Music Lately. (Copyrighted, except the band that is interviewed. They have all rights to this interview.)

Kitty: -Where have you performed? What are your favorite and least favorite venues? Do you have any upcoming shows?

A Candle Lit City:    We have performed around the country and cant say we have a favorite, but shout to all the local and smaller shows because that keeps scene alive. Are upcoming shows currently are in the Texas area, with plans on a summer US tour.

K: -Which songs do you perform most frequently? Do you ever play any covers? Do you have a set play list for your shows?

ACLC:    Are most frequently played songs are off our most recent EP, we don't ever play covers live. Our set list is usually dependent on who we are playing with and the crowd.

K: -Who writes your songs? Is it a group effort?

ACLC:    Wade, our guitarist/singer, writes the idea of the song which gives us the opportunity for the rest of us to make and mold it into something unique. Ty our vocalist writes the lyrics with band input.

K: -What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs? Do you think these topics will change over time?

ACLC:    The themes are usually different per song however majority of the songs tend to lead to things we are dealing with or motivation to help others deal with their problems and feelings.

K: -What are your rehearsals generally like? Do you have a set time each week in which you practice or are rehearsals more spontaneous?

ACLC:    We practice as often as we can. Rehearsals consist of playing our set perfectly.

K: -How has your music evolved since you first began playing music together?

ACLC:    I think our sound has matured as we have matured as individuals, it took us awhile to find our sound as a band.

K: -What has been your biggest challenge as a band? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?

ACLC:    The biggest challenge as a band is distance, college and just growing up. We have stuck it out as a band but at one point we have members in 4 different cites, spreading over 2 different states, luckily we have seemed to make it work.

K: -What's your ultimate direction for your band? Are you seeking fame and fortune?

ACLC:    We just want our music to be heard, we just love playing music. Fame and fortune is the last thing on our minds.

K: -What advice do you have for people who want to form their own bands?

ACLC:    Just to do it and stay true to your music

K: -How would you describe your music to someone who has never heard your music before?

ACLC:    An alternative look to metal

K: -How can fans-to-be gain access to your music? Do you have a website with sample songs or a demo CD?

ACLC:    We are on every social media, facebook, twitter, instagram, myspace. We also have our own website...www.facebook.com/acandlelitcitytx // www.acandlelitcitytx.com

K: -I heard a new single has been released? How's it doing so far? How are the fans liking it?

ACLC:    The new single is called "Hourglass" and its been doing very well. Many people seem to enjoy it and we are just stoked on that.

K: -Website links in which other people can find your music, or more information for your band?

ACLC:     music: http://www.tunecore.com/music/acandlelitcitytx
